Blue Oyster Cult on Flame With Rock and Roll Stevehoffman

  1. ^^^^^^^^

True but high quality audio and video I think would do pretty well.

  2. Not sure how many older shows in the vaults have decent video footage. Personally, I have quite a few cd/dvd combos that I have never watched the videos. I can listen to the music while doing other things but with the videos I have to set aside time to watch them.
  3. New release

  4. One I don't have. Saw some clips on YouTube. I think Albert makes a few guest appearances for some vocals and guitar?! Sounded pretty good from what I remember. Would have been nice to see (or hear) if Patti Smith would have also appeared to do the duet Revenge of Vera Gemini with Albert. Don't recall Joe being there either. Will have to revisit and probably buy it though.

  6. ^^^^^^^

Does anyone know if this is the reunion concert which all original members participated or is it with the members with which BOC had at that time?

  7. Line-up:
Eric Bloom - Guitar, Keyboards, Vocals
Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser - Guitar, Vocals
Richie Castellano - Guitar, Keyboards, Vocals
    Kasim Sulton - Bass, Vocals
    Jules Radino - Drums, Percussion
  8. Thanks. I knew that they reunited in 2012 but just don't remember the date. Will put this on my list.
  9. I tried getting into Cultosaurus Erectus but I just find it to be the weakest one through Fire of Unknown Origin. Side 2 with songs like "Hungry Boys", "The Marshall Plan" and "Fallen Angel" just sink the album for me. Even "Lips in the Hills" which people seemed to rave about I found underwhelming. I definitely liked Mirrors better, personally. But if there was a "comeback" album, to me it's Fire of Unknown Origin, not CE.
  10. Have been listening heavily to my previously least listened to BOC

    Mirrors
    Cultosaurus Erectus
    Revolution By Night
    Club Ninja
    Heaven Forbid
The Curse Of The Hidden Mirror

And I came to the conclusion that BOC did not ever make a bad album. My favorites are still from the Black and White period, their style changed with the times and personal changes but the quality of the musicianship is always first rate. Outside of supergroups I would put their musical talent (original lineup) up against anyone. Only the likes of The Who and Zeppelin would best them. I don't think any North American band could. Rush and the original Lynyrd Skynyrd are very close though.

  11. Sales wise you are correct. I've been listening to Mirrors a lot lately and it has grown upon me. It used to be my least favorite BOC release but I don't think I can say that anymore. Mirrors was kinda out of character for them as it was kinda poppy and Cultosaurus they regained their edge. Fire was their last with Albert Bouchard who was not only the original drummer but also largely responsible for the BOC mystique and style. Still feel if they and Albert could have worked things out, they would have a lot more successful going forward.
  12. Thought I would move our conversation here, I was able to snag the green vinyl and I believe you can hear two new songs as well, it was posted on the forum in the music corner, the new album is called The Symbol Remains
  13. I will have to preview the songs. I guess I will have to pre-order the black vinyl. I'm surprised the color sold out so quickly. I haven't heard any BOC since their last studio effort.
  14. I'm really looking forward to it, hope they tour behind it !
  15. If Buck has kept up his chops and writing it definitely will be worth the cost.
    HfxBob and tinnox like this.
  16. I agree, I think the pre sales on the colored vinyl were only 100 each if I am not mistaken.
  17. Ahhhh. That would account for the quick sales.
  18. Buck's "chops" are more than intact - the band has NEVER stopped touring - ever.

They've even done live Drive-in shows during COVID...

  19. After seeing them at a show last year I can say that if anything Buck's chops just keep getting better & better!
Slim Zooms and HfxBob like this.
  20. At the Drive In eh?:D
  21. New song...
The MEZ and slipkid like this.
  22. ...and another:
  23. And as noted in the new album thread, that is Albert Bouchard himself in that vid on backing vocals & cowbell!! He apparently is on the new album in some sort of guest role.
  24. Any thoughts on the two songs available for preview off the new album?
